We had 3 riders to start and met James on the route. After what seems like weeks of rain, the skies clear up just in time for the ride. The roads were dry and the skies were very clear. Once we got out on the open roads, we notice that the skies were an unusually clear, pretty blue. However, there were cold winds coming out of the north. We were in luck on this route though. There were plenty of trees (and hills to block some of the wind). 😉 Once we left Chagrin Falls, we could feel some of the effects of the winds. On some of the downhills, we were maxing out at 21 mph with the winds in our faces. The roads were beat up but they were very quiet. We all appreciated that. We took some new routes and took the Freedom trail from Kent all the way to Akron. That was the first time that we’ve ridden that many miles on that particular trail.
