It was one of those days where it was borderline comfy at the start but once we got going, it warmed up and was nice and comfortable. The 68 degree temperature felt like 58 degrees for most of the morning. When we left Wellington, we were hoping that we would see the elk at the elk farm and we did. However, seeing the elk made us hungry. All we could think about was elk burgers for miles.   The ride from that area to Ashland was really nice. The roads were quiet and once we got on the main roads into town, we rolled downhill for about 10 miles into Ashland.   In Ashland, it was sunny and warm and we were glad that we were on the roads. The next stretch was also beautiful with quite a bit of climbing. At mile 90, in Valley City, we were in a daze and were ready to be home.   All in all, it was a wonderful day to be out. It was one of the best routes of the season. We’ll have to put it on the calendar again.
